Actual sweet and edible sprinkles adorn this cake, not the thread that it is meant to look like. Considering there are some people, such as [Judith G. Klausner](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toast-embroidery), who have actually embroidered real food with real thread before, it wouldn't be surprising if some thought the same of the deceptive Embroidery Cake. Designed by Alberta-based baker hobbiest Stephanie, also known as Clockwork Lemon, the Embroidery Cake was inspired by Polka and Bloom blogger Carina Envoldsen-Harris' embroidery designs. Stephanie actually took one of them and created it stitch for stitch on the Embroidery Cake. The fact that it is a [pink lady cake](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/early-grey-cloud-cake) makes it even better. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 51% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Edible Embroidery:** The creative use of colorful sprinkles on the Embroidery Cake presents an opportunity for innovative edible designs. - **Food as Art:** Inspired by embroidery designs, the Embroidery Cake blurs the line between food and art, suggesting possibilities for culinary artistic expression. - **Crafty Confections:** The Embroidery Cake showcases the potential for combining traditional crafts with the world of confections, opening up new possibilities for unique dessert creations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Baking and Confections:** The Embroidery Cake highlights a creative trend within the baking and confectionery industry, showcasing the potential for unique and visually appealing dessert creations. - **Art and Design:** The fusion of embroidery designs with the world of cake decoration presents an innovative opportunity at the intersection of art and culinary arts. - **Crafting and DIY:** The Embroidery Cake exemplifies the potential for incorporating crafting techniques into the world of DIY desserts, offering new avenues for creativity in the crafting industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cardboard-Resembling Illusion Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-cake.md) - [Treat-Inspired Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jenny-lemons-x-magnolia-bakery.md) - [Layered Cotton Candy Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cotton-candy-layer-cake.md) - [Balloon Dog Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balloon-dog-cake.md) - [Edible Flower Sprinkles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eat-your-flowers.md) - [All-Occasion Layered Cakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cake.md) - [Playful Space-Themed Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacethemed-dessert.md) - [Playful Crochet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crochet-collection.md) - [Edible Flower Baking Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edible-flower-kit.md)
