# Stacked Ivory Structures The Elysium 154 House is an Oasis in the Outback By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elysium-154-house References: [contemporist](http://www.contemporist.com/2010/04/08/the-elysium-154-house-by-bvn-architecture/) & [bvn.au](http://www.bvn.com.au/) There is that rule in real estate that says if a house's rooms are painted white, it is more likely to sell than if they were another color. If that law holds true, then the Elysium 154 House is bound to be bought in a flash. Featuring a [boxy exterior](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin) with [stained wood highlights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-house-on-a-hill), and a rather interesting sloped roof, this abode is the quintessential modern living space. The Elysium 154 House was built in the heart of Queensland, Australia, and features [enormous bay windows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beaufort-bushland-retreat) with which to enjoy the panoramic view. Other noted highlights include the shiny tiled floors running throughout the main level of the house, as well as the black framed windows and halogen lighting, which give it a studio feel. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Modern Minimalism:** Designing sleek, minimalist homes with emphasis on natural light and maximization of space to appeal to the modern aesthetic. - **Panoramic Living:** Integrating large windows and outdoor spaces in home design to provide sweeping views and a connection with nature. - **Smart Lighting:** Incorporating advanced, energy-efficient lighting systems that can be adjusted remotely through technology. ### Where This Applies - **Real Estate:** Exploring innovative home design to increase property value and appeal to modern buyers. - **Lighting Technology:** Developing smarter, greener lighting systems that can be controlled remotely and customized to suit individual preferences. - **Architecture:** Incorporating panoramic views and outdoor living spaces into innovative home designs that emphasize a strong connection with nature. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Refined Modern Dwellings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/silver-house.md) - [Compact White-Painted Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/whitepainted-modern-home.md) - [Contemporary Stacked Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/everden-residence.md) - [Hilltop Modern Retreats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-cloud-house.md) - [Clay Ridge Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/birdwood-house.md) - [Temple-Inspired Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/j-kidman-architecture.md) - [Meadow-Overlooking Sleek Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/studioac-1.md) - [Wooden Screened Cantilevered Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elbow-house.md) - [Simple Material Family Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openfield-house.md)
