Despite the [clean lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ff-chair-collection), it has a [curving body](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gomo-armchair) that lends itself wholly to comfort, which is important when it comes to such a furniture piece. Created by German designers Eva Paster and Michael Geldmacher of Paster & Geldmacher studio, the Elephant Rocking Chair isn't completely original. The Elephant Rocking Chair is a wonderful tweak of the renowned Elephant chair by Kristalia, which won the Interior Innovation Award in the 'best of the best' section last year. By replacing the metal legs with a [wooden frame](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hug-chair-1), the Elephant Rocking Chair provides more interactivity between the sitter and the design while also adding a nice contrast to the polyurethane body. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Comfortable Modern Furniture:** The trend of updating classic furniture designs with modern elements, like the Elephant Rocking Chair, presents opportunities to create comfortable and aesthetically pleasing pieces. - **Interactivity in Design:** Designers are incorporating interactive features into furniture, such as the wooden rockers on the Elephant Rocking Chair, to enhance user experience and engagement. - **Wood and Polyurethane Combination:** The trend of using a combination of wood and polyurethane in furniture design, as seen in the Elephant Rocking Chair, offers opportunities to create visually appealing and functional pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore ways to update classic designs and incorporate interactive elements to create comfortable and modern pieces, like the Elephant Rocking Chair. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate furniture pieces that combine wood and polyurethane materials, like the Elephant Rocking Chair, to add a touch of sophistication and comfort to their spaces. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can offer customers furniture options that prioritize comfort, interactivity, and visual appeal, such as the Elephant Rocking Chair, to meet the demands of modern consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Structural Rocking Horses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocking-horse-chair.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Geometric Rocking Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Quirky Postmodern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ebba-armchair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Pouffe Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/platero.md) - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md)
