# Animalia Electrical Accessories Elephant in the Room Brings Playfulness to Dull Interior Features By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-02-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elephant-in-the-room References: [1designperday](http://www.1designperday.com/2014/02/26/there-is-an-elephant-on-your-wall/) Besides [colorful switch plates and stickers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodleface), there is a way to liven up electrical outlets with the delightful Elephant in the Room. This little plastic item can be easily pinned to a [standard socket](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/invisoutlet-aura) with the insertion of an appliance's cable. The reason that Gal Bulka and Idan Noyberg made an [elephant form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daizo) becomes obvious once the two are stuck together. The flat gray figure of the mammal features a small rounded body with four legs, a curling tail and an exaggerated head. It has big broad ears and no face, because this is where a plug is applied. With the cord escaping from the Elephant in the Room, it comes to resemble a trunk with quite a lengthy extension. The knickknack brings a bit of fun to boring interior elements, better suited to the quarters of young-at-heart adults, rather than curious kids. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 92% | Activity: 66% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Colorful Electrical Accessories:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop a line of vibrant and eye-catching electrical accessories that add a playful touch to dull interior features. - **Creative Plug Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create unique and whimsical plug designs that transform ordinary outlets into fun and decorative elements. - **Personalized Outlet Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Offer customizable and personalized options for outlet decor, allowing individuals to express their style and personality. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Collaborate with home decor brands to create a range of unique electrical accessories that seamlessly blend with different interior styles. - **Consumer Electronics:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Partner with electronics companies to design and produce plug accessories that add a touch of creativity and personality to electronic devices. - **Gifts and Novelty Items:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Target the gift and novelty market by creating a range of playful and unique electrical accessories that make great gifts for all occasions. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Easy-to-Install Outlet Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switch-plate-set.md) - [Elephant-Inspired Countertop Dishwashers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elle.md) - [Artfully Dynamic Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aunion.md) - [Pencil-Resembling Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-multitap.md) - [Playful Industrial Desk Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forming-function-nomad-collection.md) - [Quirky Common Item Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/table-lamp-lighter.md) - [Painting-Inspired Electrical Outlet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/22-system.md) - [Strategic Puzzle Games](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elephant-in-the-room1.md) - [Bone Powder-Made Home Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/souhaib-ghanmi.md)
