An airplane like this is normally a concept, but the Elektra One is actually closer to becoming a reality than you might think. The Elektra One can fly for three hours on a single charge and has a range of 310 miles and a cruising speed of 99 mph. These figures, while not mind blowing, are pretty good when you consider the fact that most [electric cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/volkswagen-id-every1-concept) can't go for nearly half the distance that this plane can. Whether or not the Elektra One will be a success remains to be seen, but I wouldn't be shocked to see many more solar power planes debut hot on its heels.
