The device is developed through a collaboration between Tucker Viemeister — an American industrial designer, and software giant [Microsoft](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microsoft-project-volterra). Dubbed 'ElectionGuard,' the offering consists of a "[tilt-able touch screen](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/microtouch-products)," as well as "a base shaped like a 'pizza box' and a printer." The collaborators ensure that great emphasis is put on user experience design, in order for individuals to have a seamless experience and to not be perplexed by usability woes. The electronic voting machine operates on a piece of software designed by Microsoft to "make elections more verifiable, efficient and easy to complete." Individuals also receive a code that allows them to verify if their preference has been counted correctly. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.7/10 - Popularity: 6% | Activity: 7% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Political](https://www.trendhunter.com/political) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Secure Electronic Voting:** The trend towards secure electronic voting systems is creating opportunities for innovation in the election technology industry. - **User Experience Design:** The emphasis on user experience design in ElectionGuard creates opportunities for businesses to improve ease of use in electronic voting machines. - **Verification Technology:** The use of verification technology in ElectionGuard sets a trend for using similar systems in other industries to improve transparency and build trust with consumers. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Election Technology:** The development of ElectionGuard presents opportunities for innovation in the election technology industry. - **Software and Technology:** The development of 'tilt-able touch screens' and verification technology by Microsoft in ElectionGuard highlights opportunities in the software and technology industry. - **Government and Public Service:** The trend towards secure and efficient electronic voting systems creates opportunities for businesses to provide similar solutions for other government and public service sectors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accessibility-Promoting Voter Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mcgonagle-reader.md) - [Accesible Voter Education Videos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accesible-voter-education-video.md) - [Voter Guide Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/openballot.md) - [Gen Z-Targeted Voting Features](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/election-center.md) - [Engagement-Enhancing Election Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/election-tool.md) - [Blockchain Affiliation Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mint-a-vote.md) - [AI-Enabled Vending Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vending-tracker.md) - [All-in-One Self-Serve Kiosks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touch-dynamic.md) - [Congress Voting Insights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/votesee.md)
