Designed by Petr Kubik, the electronic drums take the knee tapping and air smashing actions and put sound to them. This [electric percussion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phase8) creates drum beats with each hit which allow you to drum to your favourite tunes without the difficulty of actually knowing how to play. The UFO-looking surface also produces a [colourful hand impression](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-airwave) based on where and how hard you hit the drum using Hypercolor style technology. Air guitar is out, electronic drums are in. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 16% | Activity: 18% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Electronic Percussion:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in the music industry by creating electronic percussion instruments that are easy to use and can create sound from simple actions. - **Hypercolor Technology:** Disruptive innovation can occur in the electronic instrument industry by incorporating Hypercolor technology into their products to create a visually stimulating experience for the user. - **Portable Instruments:** With the rise of remote work and the need for entertainment at home, there is a disruptive innovation potential for creating portable electronic percussion instruments that can be used anywhere. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Music:** There is an opportunity for innovation in the music industry by incorporating electronic and Hypercolor technology into percussion instruments, making them more accessible, visually appealing, and portable for consumers. - **Entertainment:** Innovative electronic percussion instruments can create disruptive innovation in the entertainment industry by providing a unique and engaging experience for consumers at events and concerts. - **Education:** The education industry has an opportunity for innovation by incorporating electronic percussion instruments with Hypercolor technology in their music programs and making it easier for students to learn and play percussion instruments. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Budget-Friendly Percussion Pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/percussion-pad.md) - [Futuristic Flatpack Drum Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/future-drum-kit.md) - [Musician-Friendly Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-x.md) - [Affordable Music-Making Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easyplay-1s.md) - [Noise-Reducing Digital Drum Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roland-vdrums-quiet-design.md) - [Pocket-Sized Beat Makers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stylophone-beat.md) - [Effect-Emitting Guitar Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-gadgets.md) - [Interactive Drum Learning](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/melodics-drums.md) - [Electronic String Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni.md)
