# Hidden Clothes Cleaners The Electrolux Shine is More Stylish Than the Garments it Washes By Alex Scott | Published 2010-04-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electrolux-shine References: [bornrich.org](http://www.bornrich.org/entry/electrolux-unveils-shine-concept-for-future-bathrooms/) & [newsroom.electrolux](http://newsroom.electrolux.com/2010/04/14/electrolux-presents-concept-of-wall-compact-washing-machines/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:) Keeping the washing machine in the bathroom doesn't exactly sound like the smartest idea, as it tends to be a mammoth appliance and space in the washroom is tight enough already. But if you had the Electrolux Shine, you could stick it in the closet if you wanted to. Probably the smallest version of a washing machine I have ever seen, not only does this thing save on space by being wall-mounted, it is also quite aesthetically pleasing. That is something that can't often be said about washers. The Electrolux Shine signifies a bit of a different direction for the innovative company as most of its designs focus on the kitchen. I have a feeling the next item from Electrolux will be some sort of portable bathtub. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 70% | Activity: 88% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Wall-mounted Washing Machines:** There is a potential for growth in creating more compact and stylish wall-mounted washing machines to save valuable living space. - **Multi-purpose Appliances:** Developing multi-purpose appliances, such as a washing machine that can also dry clothes, presents an opportunity for companies to offer more value and convenience to consumers. - **Appliance Design:** As consumers seek more aesthetically pleasing appliances, companies can innovate and design more stylish and visually appealing products such as the Electrolux Shine. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Home Appliances:** Home appliance manufacturers can leverage this trend towards wall-mounted and multi-purpose appliances to create innovative products that offer more value and convenience to consumers. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can offer solutions that incorporate wall-mounted and space-saving appliances to create functional and visually appealing living spaces for clients. - **Sustainable Living:** Manufacturers can promote the environmental benefits of wall-mounted washing machines through more sustainable water and energy usage, as a way to appeal to consumers' desires for sustainable living. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bedroom-Sized Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-drum-washing-machine.md) - [Miniature Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-mini-washing-machine.md) - [Ultra-Modern Toy-Like Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toshin-machine.md) - [Flatpack Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collapsible-washing-machine.md) - [Space-Saving AI-Powered Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/samsung-bespoke-ai-11kg-spacemax.md) - [Portable Ultrasonic Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-washing-machine-concept.md) - [Touchscreen Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chiq-colorluxe-washing-machine.md) - [Compact Washer-Dryer Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washerdryer-robot.md) - [Single-Unit Washer-Dryers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/washtower.md)
