It appears to be a sort of space separator, and perhaps you would not expect it to do much more than offer privacy and screen off different parts of an open room. Mayte Arratia actually infused this [lightweight and malleable room divider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider) with several surprising and cutting-edge features that aid in further ameliorating the indoor atmosphere. For one thing, it soaks up solar energy so that it can give off a colorful glow, day or night, and it can regulate the passage of the sun's rays for several different illuminating effects. The Electrolux Parinna also acts as an [air filtration system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/comfortpure) and it can even be used to absorb oil and steam in the kitchen. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 45% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Multi-functional Partitions:** There is an opportunity to explore adding unexpected features to traditional room dividers, such as air filtration systems or energy-absorbing properties. - **Eco-friendly Interior Design:** Creating products that are both functional and environmentally conscious is a growing trend in the interior design industry. - **Smart Lighting Solutions:** Integrating personalized lighting options that can adjust according to the time of day or lighting conditions could be an innovative direction for future products. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** The incorporation of multi-functional features in furnishings and décor could be an opportunity for interior designers to offer unique solutions for clients. - **Sustainable Energy:** The use of solar energy in products like the Electrolux Parinna highlights the need for sustainable energy solutions, providing opportunities for companies in the renewable energy industry. - **Home Appliance:** Adding additional functions to everyday appliances, such as air filtration systems in room partitions, could be an area for innovation and differentiation in the home appliance industry. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Dynamic Air-Purifying Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vox-aeris.md) - [Light-Integrated Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airglow.md) - [Ambient Illumination Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-purifier-concept.md) - [Plant-Supporting Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/florapur-air-purifier-concept.md) - [Slender Two-in-One Air Modifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humidifier-and-air-purifier.md) - [Seasonally Adaptive Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-freshenerpurifier.md) - [Hanging Pendant-Style Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abell-air-purifier.md) - [Air-Purifying Headboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airtulip-sleep.md) - [Plant-Powered Air Purifiers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/decorative-air-purifier.md)
