In a collaboration between Soft Machines Lab and Morphing Matter Lab at [Carnegie Mellon University](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reskin), researchers developed ElectroDermis, a futuristic way for [wearable technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skinsight) to be sported on the body with the same ease as applying a bandage. This innovation makes it possible for a variety of wearables to be used for [medical, fitness of lifestyle-tracking purposes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tband).

While there are some tattoos and invasive implants that can be permanently placed in the body, this system offers an alternative method for making the most of wearables in a way that's both functional and aesthetically pleasing with its futuristic look. The ElectroDermis system is said to offer a comfortable, untethered experience for people that adapts to the dynamic nature of the ever-moving body.
