If you have hardwood floors, then you know how uncomfortable your feet can get in the winter. Anyone susceptible to cold toes can rejoice now thanks to [Panasonic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/panasonic-ehna7m). With the heated rug, your feet no longer have to spend the entire season buried in sheep-skin lined slippers. The [warm rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rugello-by-kleentex) are making their debut in Asia when they're released this September. Panasonic unveiled their "No-Constrainst Carpet" at the Tokyo Fiber exhibit as [Pink Tentacle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pink-soldier-saber) reported, describing it as an "innovative hot carpet with the warm, fuzzy appeal of a beloved pet. The carpet's luxurious coat of faux fur (available in white, brown, or skunk-like black and white) houses a set of smart heating elements that deliver warmth only to the areas you touch when you cuddle it. Squishy, flesh-like control switches modeled after the paw pads of your favorite furry friend enhance the carpet's overall zoomorphic feel." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.6/10 - Popularity: 78% | Activity: 53% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Smart Heated Rugs:** Opportunities for the development of smart automated heated rugs that are designed to deliver heat to areas only when in use. - **Luxury Home Comforts:** Opportunities for home appliance companies to create new luxury home comfort products that offer unique features and aesthetics. - **Zoomorphic Design:** Opportunities for designers to incorporate zoomorphic elements into product design, creating unique and engaging consumer experiences. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Appliances:** Opportunities for home appliance companies to develop new products in the luxury home comfort space that incorporate smart technology. - **Flooring:** Opportunities for the flooring industry to create new products that work in conjunction with smart heated rugs to improve home comfort. - **Product Design:** Opportunities for product designers to incorporate innovative and unique features into luxury home comfort products to enhance consumer experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fabric Heating Concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moritz-walter.md) - [Ultra-Efficient Heated Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbon-nanotube-heated-blanket.md) - [Bed-Gripping Heated Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-box-electric-blanket.md) - [Infrared Heated Pillows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushi.md) - [Water-Filled Mattress Heaters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/water-heated-mattress-pad.md) - [Portable Plug-In Heaters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozypod.md) - [Cozy Smart Electric Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-electric-blanket.md) - [Sustainable Warmth Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bohem-1.md) - [Cozy Heated Sofa Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bohem-blanket.md)
