# Optical Illusion Phone Stands The Elecom JAGUCHI Stand Holds Up Your Phone with Water By Souzan Michael | Published 2011-08-04 | Unique Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elecom-jaguchi-stand References: [7gadgets](http://www.7gadgets.com/2011/08/03/elecom-nendo-iphonesmartphone-stand/39290) & [tech.mikeshouts](http://tech.mikeshouts.com/elecom-jaguchi-stand-for-smartphones-and-tablets/) Rather than placing your smartphone or tablet on your bedside table, why not opt for something a little more fashionable like the [Elecom](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/auto-pet-feeder) JAGUCHI Stand? The latest release from Japanese brand Elecom is a stand that resembles a faucet pouring water on the floor. For technology addicts, there truly is nothing more worrisome than dropping your phone or tablet in a puddle of water, and the Elecom JAGUCHI Stand plays on that fear. The JAGUCHI stand comes in two sizes, one for smartphones and one for tablets. The stand is both practical and stylish, as the ripples in the water not only make it look more realistic, but also provide a support for your device, preventing it from sliding around while it leans on the "faucet." The Elecom JAGUCHI Stand comes in four colors: clear, transparent blue, transparent black and opaque white, resembling a faucet pouring out milk for those who prefer that to water. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 63% | Activity: 87% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Pranks](https://www.trendhunter.com/pranks) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Optical Illusion Phone Stands:** Elecom JAGUCHI Stand capitalizes on people's fear of dropping their electronic devices in water through its stylish and practical design. - **Fashionable Phone Accessories:** The Elecom JAGUCHI Stand presents a trend towards the integration of technology with fashion, providing an innovative solution for those looking for stylish phone stands. - **Realistic Phone Stands:** The trend of designing phone stands that resemble real-life objects, like the Elecom JAGUCHI Stand's faucet design, is changing the way we think about our electronic devices. ### Where This Applies - **Consumer Electronics:** The Elecom JAGUCHI Stand's practical and stylish design presents an innovative opportunity for companies in the consumer electronics industry to create unique phone accessories. - **Home Decor:** Companies in the home decor industry can take advantage of the trend towards realistic phone stands, like the Elecom JAGUCHI Stand, by designing products that blend technology with home decor. - **Fashion and Accessories:** The Elecom JAGUCHI Stand's fashionable design offers opportunities for companies in the fashion and accessories industry to explore the intersection of technology and fashion accessories. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Tablet-Transforming Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elago-magnetic-stand-for-ipad.md) - [Cement-Made Smartphone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifox-monument.md) - [Origami-Inspired Technology Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablet-and-phone-stand.md) - [Magsafe Phone Stand Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-phone.md) - [Freestanding Smartphone Dock Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jteman-phone-stand-and-speaker.md) - [Magnetic Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ganinno-r-stand.md) - [Magnetic Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kyan.md) - [Multi-Purpose Computer Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/computer-stand3.md) - [Versatile EDC Phone Stands](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acestand-2.md)
