Altenburger’s large scale floating piece remained temporarily at the Isle of Tyree in Scotland. The installation merged the German sculptor’s passion for architecture and environment. The piece consists of a tiny abode made of metal and steel set against the backdrop of a [beautiful body of water](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lake-house-life-experience-pavilion) with surrounding wilderness. The house picks up the rocks, water and sky and reflects them back. It blurs the lines between where the structure begins and ends and from different angles projects altering landscapes. The installation was a labor of love and it shows in these magnificent photographs. The Ekkehard Altenburger ‘Mirror House’ is a feat in assembly and exemplifies the artist’s dedication to his craft. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 46% | Activity: 42% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Environmental Reflection Installations:** Opportunities to create visually stunning art showcases that reflect and incorporate natural environments in a sustainable manner. - **Architectural Intersection with Nature:** Using architecture as a means to blend structures seamlessly and elegantly in natural environments. - **Temporary Large-scale Installation Art:** Creating awe-inspiring but fleeting feats of art that are as inspiring as they are temporary. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Real Estate and Property Development:** Opportunities to create visually stunning, reflective structures that blend seamlessly into their natural surroundings. - **Tourism and Travel:** Developing engaging and unique experiences that leverage natural environments and architecture to inspire and draw in visitors. - **Fine Arts and Galleries:** Opportunities to explore the intersection between architecture and fine art through the creation and showcasing of large scale, temporary installation pieces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mirrored Hall Visual Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/internamente.md) - [Reflective Minimal Glamping Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alphaline.md) - [Rectangular Golden Shimmering Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/golde-house.md) - [Desert Reflective Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shadow-travelling.md) - [Reflective Material Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirroring-dialogue.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Mirrored Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sabine-marcelis-1.md) - [Light Reflective Modern Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ppaa.md) - [Compact Modular Forest Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-house.md)
