# Keyboard Woodwinds The Eigenharp Alpha is a Mish-Mash Musical Instrument By Meghan Young | Published 2010-05-22 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eigenharp-alpha References: [uncrate](http://www.uncrate.com/men/gear/musical-instruments/eigenharp-alpha/) & [eigenlabs](http://eigenlabs.com/alpha/) I've played a woodwind instrument (the flute) as well as the piano, but to play them simultaneously was never high up on my to do list; with the Eigenharp Alpha, though, I could at least pencil it in. This unique instrument is also tech-friendly, which is perfect for today's musician. According to Uncrate, the Eigenharp Alpha features "a breath pipe, 120 keys, 12 percussion keys, two strip controllers, and multiple pedal inputs," which can be connected to a custom software program via a [Mac](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/custtimus-01) computer. If you're not sure what your musical calling is, knock two off your list with this one. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 47% | Activity: 30% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Media](https://www.trendhunter.com/media) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Mish-mash Musical Instruments:** Exploring the combination of different musical instruments to create unique and innovative musical experiences. - **Tech-friendly Instruments:** Integrating technology into musical instruments to enhance performance and create new possibilities for musicians. - **Simultaneous Instrument Playing:** Developing instruments that allow musicians to play multiple instruments simultaneously, expanding their creativity and expression. ### Who This Affects Most - **Music Technology:** Developing software and hardware solutions that integrate technology into musical instruments. - **Musical Instrument Manufacturing:** Creating innovative instruments that combine different elements to offer musicians new and exciting playing experiences. - **Music Education:** Teaching and providing resources for musicians to explore simultaneous instrument playing and incorporate technology into their performances. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hybrid Music Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/phase8.md) - [Hand-Sensing Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-airwave.md) - [Hexagonal Music Composition Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/music-composition-keyboard.md) - [Multifunctional Music Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chorda.md) - [Stealthy Rare Wooden Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torch-t01.md) - [Connected Musical Chord Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chord-machine-akt01.md) - [Sustainable Hand-Crafted Keyboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/working-synth.md) - [Digital Motion-Sensing Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roli-piano.md) - [Affordable Music-Making Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easyplay-1s.md)
