# Perky Pinched Seating The Eidos Chair is Inspired by Nuvist's Charme Bathtub By Meghan Young | Published 2011-08-24 | Updated 2011-08-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eidos-chair References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005536.html) & [nuvist](http://www.nuvist.com/wp/2011/07/eidos-seating-design-by-nuvist/) The Eidos Chair may look like a typical, [rounded office seat](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elle-dcor) except for its singular arm design. As though pinched by a giant, it caves in to create a curvature for upper limbs to rest on comfortably. Designed by Nuvist, the Eidos Chair was inspired by one of the studio's past designs. With the same pinched look, the [Charme Bathtub](http://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nuvist-charme-bathtub) must have been well-received for the designers to find a way to translate the shape into another piece of furniture. As fluid-looking as the tub, the Eidos Chair's continuous form does do the concept justice, not to mention providing an ergonomical support for the human body. The Eidos Chair's contemporary aesthetic would be perfect for modern homes and offices. This lightweight seat is available in a slew of colors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 86% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pinched Design:** Opportunity for creating unique and visually appealing products with a pinched design. - **Continuous Form:** Potential for designing furniture with a continuous form for fluid and ergonomic support. - **Contemporary Aesthetic:** Demand for modern furniture with a contemporary aesthetic for homes and offices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for creating innovative and visually striking furniture designs. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate unique and modern seating options in their projects. - **Office Furniture:** Potential for developing office chairs with ergonomic and visually appealing designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Airy Ergonomic Studio Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/elgato-embrace.md) - [Sculptural Upholstered Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amia.md) - [Quirky Postmodern Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-ebba-armchair.md) - [Ergonomic Polyurethane Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arfinio-chair.md) - [Ultra-Minimal Stool Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sedeo-chair.md) - [Mid-Century Ergonomic Office Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeph-chair-1.md) - [Structurally Complex Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-arch-chair.md) - [Versatile Dynamic Armchair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dynamic-armchair.md) - [Sartorially Inspired Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/narinari-chair.md)
