# Modern Balinese Cabin Designs The Conceptual 'Eibche' Cabins Have a Minimal Yet Comfortable Design By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2021-01-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eibche-cabins References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2021/01/13/these-balinese-cabins-use-natural-materials-and-minimal-design-to-immerse-guests-in-the-environment/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+yankodesign+%28Yanko+Design+-+Form+Beyond+Function%29) The conceptual 'Eibche' cabins have been designed by the Shomali Design Studio as a modern take on the humble Balinese cabin in a bid to help merge traditions with present capabilities. The cabins feature an [elevated structure](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tallowwood-cabin) that boasts both concrete and bamboo into the design, which could put a focus on enhanced stability. The dwellings help to strike a balance between [tropical aesthetics and contemporary architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belalu-dome-villa) to identify what could be done in the near future for residents of the island. Yasser Shomali spoke on the conceptual 'Eibche' cabins saying, "As Balinese people traditionally use tripartite divisions, we tried to hold the spirit of this format and use it in a modern way. On the other hand, splitting the cabin in half with the separating walls allowed nature to move inside. Using [natural materials](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cross-cabin) encouraged us to hold their color. No natural colors were altered and the only addition we made was a white wash to make their harmony and contrast pop more. Residents can now be immersed in the scenic setting even if they are indoors." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.6/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 9% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Architecture](https://www.trendhunter.com/architecture) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Balinese-modern Fusion Architecture:** Opportunity to create modern designs that incorporate traditional Balinese architecture and materials. - **Sustainable Materials in Architecture:** Opportunity to incorporate sustainable materials such as bamboo into modern architectural designs. - **Indoor-outdoor Living Spaces:** Opportunity to create designs that blend the interior and exterior spaces of a dwelling seamlessly. ### Who This Affects Most - **Architecture:** Designing structures that incorporate traditional design with modern capabilities and sustainable materials. - **Construction:** Building structures that utilize eco-friendly materials and allow for indoor-outdoor living spaces. - **Tourism:** Developing accommodations that merge traditional Balinese culture and modern design to attract tourists seeking unique experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modern Luxury Holiday Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yimura-cabins.md) - [Countryside Woodland Cabin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aralar-cottage.md) - [Vibrant Tropical Guesthouses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bi-design-house.md) - [Forest Bamboo Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-cabin.md) - [Futuristic Modular Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pebl-grand-cabin.md) - [Captivating Modern Prefab Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/skali-backcountry-cubiod.md) - [Waterside Retreat Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bora-boral.md) - [Transparent Birchwood Nature Cabins](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immerso-glamping-cabin.md) - [Boulder-Resembling Cabin Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thrse.md)
