Once a carpenter, Wen Fuliang now uses chicken, goose and duck eggs to carve miraculous artworks into the shells. Not only is the artist able to create and display multi-layered engravings in the already-thin fragile casings, they also demonstrate the artist's experience in the elegance of the creations. As the former carpenter uses a [fine diamond bit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/yin-mo-star-kui) to carve accurate renditions of Chinese landmarks along with tradititional designs and complicated Chinese characters, the experience and confidence of Wen Fuliang is revealed in his deft hand and smooth artwork. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 52% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Egg Shell Carving Art:** The art of intricate egg shell carvings is a niche artform that is gaining popularity and offers unique opportunities for personalized gifts and home decor. - **Fine Diamond Bit Carving:** Using a fine diamond bit for carving on fragile material like egg shells can open up new creative possibilities and applications in art and craft industries. - **Traditional Chinese Designs and Characters:** The use of traditional Chinese landmarks and designs along with complicated Chinese characters in egg shell carvings can create a new market for cultural souvenirs and heritage crafts. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art and Craft:** Intricate egg shell carvings can serve as unique home decor and personalized gifts, offering opportunities for artists and craftsmen to showcase their skills and creativity. - **Jewelry and Accessories:** Fine diamond bit carving on egg shells can be used to create intricate and delicate pieces of jewelry and accessories, providing opportunities for designers to explore new materials and techniques. - **Tourism and Souvenir:** The use of traditional Chinese landmarks, designs, and characters in egg shell carvings can create a new market for cultural souvenirs and heritage crafts, catering to the needs of tourism and travel industries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Biology-Inspired Porcelain Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiyuan-xu.md) - [Exclusive Luxury Jeweled Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/exclusive-luxury-jeweled-eggs.md) - [Artfully Balanced Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halfway-serious.md) - [Lifelike Egg Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/egg-candles-1.md) - [Artisan Easter Egg Treats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loeuf-gourmand.md) - [Mixed Material Home Decor](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/resin-dragon-egg-ornament.md) - [Egg-Shaped Meditation Timers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donha-egg.md) - [Cracking Pistachio Easter Eggs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cracking-pistachio-easter-egg.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md)
