# Delirious Damsel Drawings (UPDATE) Edno Pereira Illustrates Ladies Who Have Lost Their Minds By Jason Soy | Published 2011-11-15 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edno-pereira References: [whitezine](http://www.whitezine.com/en/graphic/edno-pereira.html) & [jrdragao.deviantart](http://jrdragao.deviantart.com/gallery/) Edno Pereira is no stranger to producing wicked pop culture-related illustrations, but in this collection of snazzy doodles, the Brazilian artist muses over women who may have trouble maintaining their sanity. Whether it's a delirious homemaker brandishing a knife and declaring her love of watermelon or a lovely lady locked up in a straitjacket, the images Pereira has been producing as of late have an ongoing motif of craziness. This theme extends into his [pop art creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/keiichi-tanaami-1), as he illustrates the nefarious Joker from the Batman series using text and sporting a devilish smile. I can't complain though, as these Edno Pereira illustrations are some of the most fun images to look at precisely because his subjects have a few loose screws in the head. Edno Pereira currently resides in Rio de Janeiro, where he continues to churn out these delightful [vector creations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/halftone). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.1/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Mental Health Illustrations:** The rise of illustrations and art that capture the struggles and experiences of those suffering from mental health issues presents opportunities for further exploration and awareness-building. - **Pop Art Style:** Pop art and comic-style illustrations continue to be popular among audiences, allowing for innovative and creative approaches in marketing and advertising. - **Dark Humor Illustrations:** The combination of dark humor and quirky illustrations can create a unique marketing or branding opportunity as it appeals to an edgier and more sarcastic target audience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Mental Health Industry:** Innovative marketing campaigns and outreach programs utilizing mental health illustrations can effectively build awareness and engagement among target audiences. - **Art and Design Industry:** The demand for unique and thought-provoking illustrations presents new opportunities for freelance illustrators and designers to showcase their skills and gain recognition. - **Advertising Industry:** Capitalizing on the popularity of pop art and dark humor illustrations, advertising firms can create innovative campaigns that appeal to younger and more alternative audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Raunchy Anime-Inspired Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/manuela-soto-sosa.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Surreal Love-Themed Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/joakim-ojanen.md) - [Playful Doodle-Emblazoned Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sam-cox.md) - [Glamorous Artful Bronze Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sweet-jane.md) - [Digital Archetype Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/christian-rex-van-minnen-1.md) - [Stunning Origami Portraits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-portaits.md) - [Celebratory Odd Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ridiculous-design.md) - [Surrealist Phone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/salvador-dali-x-casetify.md)
