Across cafes, supermarkets and fast food restaurants around the world there is currently a push for companies to minimize waste by doing away with straws and single-use plastic bags—and KFC in China is now doing its part by offering entirely edible wrappers.
KFC's edible wrappers boast bold designs in red, black and white color schemes, along with different sayings. The unconventional food wrapper was created to pair with KFC's bunless Double Down sandwich, which features two pieces of fried chicken in place of bread. As this sandwich can be messy to eat on the go, the wrapper printed with edible ink helps to keep everything neatly contained.
KFC has previously introduced a number of offbeat edible creations, including everything from chicken-flavored nail polish to beverage cups made out of biscuits.
