In the fight against single-use plastic waste, [Asahi Breweries](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reusable-toothbrush) joined forces with Marushige Confectionery to create edible cups that can be consumed after drinking. The edible Mogu cups are made by baking potato starch at a high temperature and pressure, so that the material takes on a durable form that's suitable for holding liquid.

Available in a range of sizes, the edible cups can be found in different flavors: plain, shrimp rice crackers, chocolate and nuts. These eco-friendly cups not only help to cut down on waste, they offer unique experiences with flavor. Naturally, the cups have the potential to be used for more than just [enjoying beer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hop-foundry) by Asahi, as the waste-reducing Mogu vessels could also be used to hold everything from curry dishes for dinner to desserts.
