# Vascular System-Inspired Vases Edgewood Made Boasts Three Shapes That Fit into Each Other By Kalin Ned | Published 2019-08-13 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edgewood-made1 References: [design-milk](https://design-milk.com/edgewood-made-releases-a-collection-of-vases-inspired-by-vascular-systems/) & [edgewoodmade](https://www.edgewoodmade.com) Edgewood Made has debuted a new product that has a potent sculptural quality, is minimalist in texture but not in shape, and can be connected to form a whole. Dubbed 'Vase Section,' the offering is a trio of vases that draw inspirational cues from the intricacies of the vascular system -- be that one of "trees, plumbing systems, [or] the human body." Edgewood Made's vases are a representation of these systems. The brand has been able to reach this connection through attention to form. The silhouettes are named 'Section A,' Section B,' and 'Section C' respectively and their body is made out of porcelain. Edgewood Made selects colorways like Ivory White, Sage Gray, Woodland, Coral, Sky Blue, and Charcoal Black. The vases are handmade and can be presented as separate or as a whole unit. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Vascular-inspired Vases:** Edgewood Made's Vase Section demonstrates how drawing inspiration from nature can add a unique, sculptural quality to traditional home decor items. - **Modular Home Decor:** The ability to connect multiple Vase Section units to create a cohesive whole represents an opportunity for the modular home decor industry to innovate. - **Minimalist Design:** The simple yet striking design of Edgewood Made's Vase Section highlights the growing trend towards minimalist, statement-making home decor pieces. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Edgewood Made's Vase Section is a great example of how the home decor industry can incorporate organic shapes and materials into traditional decor items to create unique and visually appealing products. - **Fine Porcelain:** As the popularity of artisanal and handcrafted household items continues to grow, the fine porcelain industry has an opportunity to capitalize on consumer demand by creating high-quality, unique designs like Edgewood Made's Vase Section. - **Sustainable Design:** Edgewood Made's commitment to crafting handmade, sustainable decor items represents an opportunity for the sustainable design industry to create striking, eco-friendly products that are both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally responsible. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Connection-Inspired X-Shaped Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaax.md) - [Greenery-Inspired Textured Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leaf-textured-ceramic-vase.md) - [Geometry-Inspired Vase Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triangle-vase-collection.md) - [Minimalist Illusory Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vaso-gota-vase.md) - [Stackable Clay Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/torre-vases.md) - [Delicate Colorful Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delicate-colorful-vase.md) - [Nature-Inspired 3D-Printed Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drag-and-drop.md) - [Personalized Floral Grid Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/grid-vase.md) - [Nature-Inspired Colorful Glass Vases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anemona.md)
