# Upcycled Bamboo Trapeze Lamps This Eco-Friendly Lamp Clears Polluted Beaches By Jen Chae | Published 2013-06-28 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ecofriendly-lamp References: [shop.moorbi](http://shop.moorbi.com/products-page/transfodesign/bamboo-lighting) Circus aerialists might feel an itch when seeing this [eco-friendly lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nytt-lys-collection). The Bamboolight by Transfodesign very much resembles a trapeze as it dangles off your ceiling. The lamp is a rustically minimalist ornament to any home. It is also an environmentally conscious design, made from [discarded bamboo canes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/remli). The bamboo pieces were collected somewhere on a beach in Barcelona, inspiring this unique lamp design. The cylindrical wooden bars are simple in shape, yet detailed in texture. Bamboo is durable in quality, yet very light in weight -- perfect for crafting something that hangs off the ceiling. Using just two thin cables, the [bamboo light pendant](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nest-lamp) is securely displayed. Because it is thin, more than one lamp could be aligned at different angles or heights to form abstract designs. Bamboolight would make a fitting accessory for a modern home looking for a little bit of a natural touch. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.3/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Eco-friendly Lighting:** The trend towards using eco-friendly materials and designs for lighting fixtures provides opportunities for businesses to create innovative and sustainable products like the Bamboolight. - **Upcycling:** The trend towards upcycling discarded materials like bamboo provides opportunities for businesses to create unique and environmentally friendly products like the Bamboolight. - **Minimalist Decor:** The trend towards minimalist decor can inspire businesses to create unique and visually striking products like the Bamboolight. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Lighting:** The lighting industry can benefit from creating environmentally friendly and visually interesting products like the Bamboolight. - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can benefit from incorporating environmentally friendly and minimalist designs like the Bamboolight into their product lines. - **Sustainability:** The sustainability industry can benefit from promoting and supporting the use of upcycled materials like bamboo in product design, similar to the Bamboolight. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bamboo-Inspired Glass Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bamboo-forest-glss.md) - [Ecological Dual Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-light.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Fishnet-Made Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-mycreation-droplet-lamp.md) - [Recycled Material Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zbozhzha-pendant-light.md) - [Recycled Material Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cozy-cleo-lamp.md) - [Glowing Organic-Waste Sustainable Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lanova-terra.md) - [Eco-Friendly Textured Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/terra-lamp-series.md) - [Twisting Timber Lampshade Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/twisted-lasercut-wooden-lampshade.md)
