# Brass Eco Frames These Ecological Frames are Inspired by Chinese Divination By Mishal Omar | Published 2016-05-18 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eco-frame References: [design-milk](http://design-milk.com/geological-frame-huy-bui/?utm_source=feedly&utm_medium=webfeeds) & [hbcollaborative](http://www.hbcollaborative.com/) These brass eco frames were inspired by the Chinese divination text 'I Ching' and are designed by Huy Bui. Each of these frames holds a piece of carefully cut piece of [asymmetrical wood](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/age-of-wood). The frames are on display at Patrick Parish and are entitled the 'Topo Installation.' Some of the frames on display in this unique installation also feature [small plants like cacti](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/treevive) -- an allusion to ecology and Huy Buy's other work, which often showcases micro-ecosystems. The beautiful installation seeks to "explore the relationship between [architecture and ecology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vert-installation)" and uses a modern, simplistic design -- along with the incorporation of natural elements -- to do this. The end result is an installation that makes the viewer think about their ecological footprint while simultaneously hoping for a home decor version of this installation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 23% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sustainable Home Decor:** Opportunity for creating eco-friendly home decor products inspired by natural elements. - **Integration of Nature in Design:** Opportunity to incorporate natural elements into architectural and interior design for a unique aesthetic and ecological appeal. - **Micro-ecosystem Art:** Opportunity to create art installations featuring living micro-ecosystems, combining aesthetics with ecology. ### Where This Applies - **Home Decor:** The home decor industry can explore eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired designs in their product offerings. - **Architecture and Design:** Architects and designers can consider integrating natural elements and sustainable materials in their projects to create visually appealing and eco-conscious spaces. - **Art Installation:** Artists can create thought-provoking installations that combine aesthetics with ecological concepts using living micro-ecosystems as a medium. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Organic Ancient Design Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/earth-to-people-furniture-collection.md) - [Gabled Forest-Side Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frame-house-1.md) - [Eco-Friendly Art Frame Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vavia.md) - [Sustainable Cork Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-for-the-trees.md) - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Living Plant DIY Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/green-hideaway.md) - [Circular Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shen-sculpture.md) - [Modular Marble Photo Frames](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/memorable-picture-frame.md) - [Breathtaking Woven Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woven-installation.md)
