Eckes-Granini Recently Launched a 100% rPET Bottle for Juice

With consumers reaching for more sustainable packaging on the shelf, brands are rolling out more options to meet those needs. Eckes-Granini, Europe’s leading producer of fruit juice beverages, recently launched new PET juice bottles that are s 100% rPET. With the changeover to rPET, over 4,000 metric tons of new PET will be saved annually resulting in a reduction of around 8,000 tons of carbon emissions, per year.
“Considering the EU’s plastics strategy and the increase in recyclate quotas this prescribes, we’ve now decided to switch to using recycled PET only,” says Hermann Naumann, plant manager for Eckes-Granini in Bad Fallingbostel in Lower Saxony. “We want to be a pioneer with regard to the circular economy and set a good example for the beverage industry.”
