The Echoing Plateau project demonstrates a literal lift to the [waterfront of New Rochelle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lake-house-life-experience-pavilion), New York. This project was an attempt to bring life and activity into an underused and underdeveloped area of the historic city as a way to rejuvenate the community and the land.

Toshiki Hirano's explored a facelift approach to his landscape architecture assignment. It looks as though the top layer of earth was cut out and pulled away to produce an [elevated plaza](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aquapraa) with more usable space beneath it. Little hills were extracted beneath the curling corners of the Echoing Plateau terrace to offer lush patches of [sloping lawn](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/belvedere-park) with lovely protective shade. Plenty of parking is available beneath the big curved deck to make the outdoor space accessible to more people.
