# Tumorous Fish Tanks The Echappee Aquarium Provides a Glass Growth as Additional Swimming Space By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-09-26 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/echappee-aquarium References: [sebastiencordoleani](http://www.sebastiencordoleani.com/products.php) There are three fairly standard shapes in which fish tanks typically come, and the Echappée Aquarium conforms to none of them. The base of the vessel is a very shallow version of the common rectangular one, yet its most eye-catching feature is the bizarre and rather large outgrowth that emerges from one side. Sébastien Cordoleani's surrealist design is centered around the brain-shaped bubble that would be made of blown glass to shape an odd, bumpy surface. This would sit lightly inside the tank and be filled with fluid to a much higher level than the pool below. Made possible by a pipe and an air pressure adjustment, the elevated watery world of the Echappée Aquarium would stimulate your scaly friends and spellbind your human ones. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 84% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Non-conventional Fish Tanks:** Opportunity to disrupt the fish tank industry by offering innovative and unique tank designs. - **Surrealist Aquariums:** Chance to introduce artistic and visually captivating aquariums that cater to the growing demand for unique home decor. - **Interactive Fish Tank Experiences:** Potential to create immersive aquatic environments that provide stimulation and entertainment for the fish and human observers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Aquarium Manufacturing:** Disruptive potential to revolutionize the design and manufacturing processes of fish tanks. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity to tap into the home decor market by offering visually appealing and conversation-starting aquarium designs. - **Pet Industry:** Disruption potential by introducing innovative and interactive fish tank experiences that enhance the well-being of pet fish. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Rustic Ruin-Inspired Aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sea-of-cortez-research-center.md) - [Modern Desk-Friendly Jellyfish Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-jellyfish.md) - [Impressive DIY Terrariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diy-terrarium1.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Kinetic Reef Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tropical-aquarium.md) - [Eye-Tracking Informational Aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-aquarium.md) - [Fish Lifestyle-Inspired Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-of-gills.md) - [Sculptural Acoustic Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/echoes-of-the-deep.md) - [Warped Acrylic Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/awt-bar.md)
