Sure, they're handy as heck, but they have a fundamental flaw. The Easy_to_Cut concept elaborates on the simple binding strips with the inclusion of a [tiny notch](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuttix) towards the open end of the line, enabling you to easily remove it later. Just the simple addition of a groove in the plastic strap will mean that you're less likely to [pierce wires](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ultrasonic-cutter) and dent and scratch the object to which the Easy_to_Cut [cable tie](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cable-hanger-system) is bound. Kim Seongjin, Kim Seokhui and Lee Jongsung won a 2012 Red Dot Design Award for this simple but innovative idea that makes odd-jobs around the house a little easier and safer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.8/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Zip-tie Upgrades:** Innovative advancements in zip-tie designs, such as the incorporation of notches to reduce the risk of damage to wires and objects they are bound to. - **DIY Safety Solutions:** Development of tools and products for DIY enthusiasts that prioritize safety and ease of use. - **Everyday Accessibility:** Innovative solutions that improve the accessibility and usability of everyday items. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Hardware and Tools:** Manufacturers in the hardware and tools industry have the opportunity to develop safer and more efficient designs for everyday items, such as zip ties. - **Home Improvement:** Companies in the home improvement industry can incorporate these zip-tie upgrades into their product offerings to provide safer and more accessible options for consumers. - **DIY and Crafting:** Retailers and startups in the DIY and crafting space can incorporate safety solutions, such as these zip-ties, into their product lines to better serve their customers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Industrial Cutting Power Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/worx-zipsnip-cutting-tool.md) - [Customizable Cable Tie Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sustainable-furniture-system.md) - [Snapping Cable Management Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wirestax.md) - [Keychain-Sized Multitools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snapcut.md) - [Two-Way Cutter Scissors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hakoake-portable-scissors.md) - [Sleek Lace Trimmer Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lace-up.md) - [Simplified Fastener Packs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/color-coded-packaging.md) - [Easy-Open Snack Pouches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/easy-open-snack-pouch.md) - [Structural Box Cutter Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/split-box-cutter.md)
