Developed in South Africa by [Westfalia Fruit](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/westfalia-fruit), the 'EasyAvo' was created naturally using hybrid growth procedures. The result is an avocado with “a thicker and corkier consistency to its skin,” which is meant to better protect a person's hand as they remove the pit from the fruit. Commonly described as avocado hand this brutal injury usually occurs when removing the pit from an avocado and ending up with a nasty knife wound in the hand. The 'EasyAvo' hopes to remedy this issue and has already debuted at [Tesco](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/avocado-scanner) in the UK.
