The bed has been designed to turn into a strongbox if and when an earthquake rocks it. The bed has storage space for food and perishable items that will help you survive for days if your home were to be hit by an earthquake. The earthquake-proof bed was inspired by the creator's experience with earthquakes in his home country. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.1/10 - Popularity: 55% | Activity: 60% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Earthquake-proof Bed:** Opportunity to develop innovative and secure beds that can withstand earthquakes and provide survival resources. - **Survival Furniture:** Potential for creating furniture that doubles as storage for emergency supplies and perishable items. - **Disaster-resistant Design:** Opportunity to incorporate protective features into everyday products to enhance safety during natural disasters. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore the production of earthquake-proof beds and other survival furniture. - **Home Security:** Companies in the home security industry can develop products that combine safety and storage functionality for emergencies. - **Residential Construction:** There is potential for builders to incorporate disaster-resistant design features into homes and buildings to increase their resilience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bed Conversion Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ensven-modular-bed-rocker.md) - [Steel Back Support Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleeping-duck-indestruct-bed.md) - [Underground Autonomous Shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plan-b-1.md) - [Sliding Desk-Equipped Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boomerang-bed.md) - [Rhythmic Bed Rockers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bedrocking-device.md) - [Streamlined Function Bed Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/essential-bed.md) - [Bed-Gripping Heated Blankets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bauhutte-box-electric-blanket.md) - [Bubble-Shaped Cribs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bubble-baby-bed.md) - [Japanese Design-Inspired Beds](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thuma.md)
