The Portuguese nightclub is outfitted with [layered lacquered MDF ceilings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caf-tondo) designed to emulate cave formations. The ever-changing LED light system resembles the hues of fire and water as it pushes and pulls throughout the room. The space can be blazing crimson one minute and frigid cobalt the next. The undulating interior is inspired by the occurrence of stalactite and stalagmite in underground grottos. The indents and layers created by the decor serves not just for aesthetic value, but also to provide distinction amongst functioning spaces. Although this [cave-inspired club](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cibaria) does not require precarious spelunking expeditions, it will certainly evoke the mood of ecstasy and adventure. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 57% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Underground-inspired Design:** Opportunity for designers to create unique, immersive and trippy interiors. - **Dynamic Lighting Systems:** Opportunity for companies to develop more advanced and interactive lighting systems for clubs and bars. - **Distinctive Space Designs:** Opportunity for architects and interior designers to create spaces that are multifunctional and visually engaging. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Hospitality Industry:** Hotels, restaurants, and bars can apply underground-inspired designs to create unique and captivating experiences for their customers. - **Event Production Industry:** Event production companies can use dynamic lighting systems and distinctive space designs to create unforgettable experiences at concerts, festivals, and other events. - **Architecture Industry:** Architects and interior designers can use underground-inspired design to bring new life to various types of public buildings, such as museums and galleries. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Ethereal Ambiance Speakeasies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artifact-bar.md) - [Subterranean Social Spaces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-vale-hotel.md) - [Oven-Inspired Techno Clubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oven-club.md) - [Nostalgic Sleek Sky Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peridot-bar.md) - [Sea-inspired Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/civico-29.md) - [Cave-Inspired Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cave-bureau.md) - [Illuminated Cave-Like Offices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/javier-senosiain-arquitectos.md) - [Geometric Cave-Like Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cavelike-homes.md) - [Playful Bar Interiors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funny-bar.md)
