# E-Paper Digital Cameras The Shelly By Bianca | Published 2008-05-23 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/e-paper-camera-shelly References: [tuvie](http://www.tuvie.com/shelly-is-e-paper-digital-camera) & [sushidesigner.webs](http://sushidesigner.webs.com/) Just when we finished mourning the death of the Polaroid, the [Shelly E-Paper Camera](http://www.tuvie.com/shelly-is-e-paper-digital-camera) catches our attention. The concept aims to revive the concept of the instant photo, but this time, for the future. "You take a picture, stock on the i-paper (consumables), send it via the Internet to other owners of i-paper therefore to wallets, picture frames, at home, in the office : everywhere and anywhere," designer [Jean Hong](http://sushidesigner.webs.com) explains. Surely when it goes from concept to reality, it won't be clad with pink and purple swirls, but if My Little Pony had a camera, this concept is how I'd imagine it to look. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.2/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 6% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Instant Photo Revival:** The Shelly E-Paper Camera aims to revive the concept of instant photography for the future. - **E-paper Technology:** The use of e-paper technology in the Shelly Camera allows for easy transfer and display of digital photos. - **Internet-connected Cameras:** The concept of sending photos via the Internet to other owners of i-paper opens up new possibilities for photo sharing and display. ### Where This Applies - **Digital Camera Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore integrating e-paper technology into their digital cameras to offer unique photo sharing experiences. - **E-paper Display Technology:** Companies specializing in e-paper technology can collaborate with camera manufacturers to create innovative devices that utilize e-paper displays. - **Digital Photo Sharing Platforms:** Platforms that facilitate the transfer and display of digital photos can adapt their services to support the internet-connected camera trend. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Memory-Making Retro Camera Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/duo-modular.md) - [Modernized Folding Instant Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nextstep-sx100.md) - [Eco-Friendly Paper Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-camera.md) - [Color-In Photo Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toy-camera-concept.md) - [Sculptural Pebble-Shaped Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ditto-camera-concept.md) - [Thermal Print Portable Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thermal-print-camera.md) - [Rechargeable Instant Print Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kodak-smile.md) - [Designer Camera Printer Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polaroid-trance-camera.md) - [Digital-Film Hybrid Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fujifilm.md)
