Durack Architects, an Australia-based architectural company, recently converted an [old clothing ware](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/xstudio) into a new [three-bedroom home](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/no-ordinary-house) in Sydney, Australia. The love for utilitarian styles brought sparked the couple's interest in the old building. Built with an open layout, the warehouse was not originally conducive to a family home.

The architects on the project evolved the structure's definition to center around a U-shaped mezzanine. Durack Architects maintained the industrial aesthetic with exposed steelwork and timber joints for an industrial aesthetic. The home's communal spaces are wrapped around a protected and elevated courtyard, allowing natural light to flood into the interior spaces. Moreover, the home's facade was painted with a large piece of street art by local artist Alex Lehours.
