Mayer H. let the original building's footprint inspire him when he designed Dupli Casa. Dupli Casa is located near Ludwigsburg, Germany. The home that previously occupied the property was built in 1984 and featured a number of room additions. J. Mayer H. worked the building's layout to his advantage, designing a sprawling modern masterpiece that pays homage to the original house while redefining the space completely. The exterior of Dupli Casa looks like one seamless form, and its interior is similarly sleek. J. Mayer H. worked with Georg Schmidthals, Thorsten Blatter, Uli Wiesler, and Simon Takasak on the impressive design, which was completed in 2008. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.0/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 25% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Retro-futurism:** Incorporating elements of past and future design to create modern masterpieces. - **Adaptive Reuse:** Utilizing and redefining existing buildings and infrastructure to create innovative new spaces. - **Seamless Design:** Creating a cohesive and streamlined design both inside and outside of a building. ### Where This Applies - **Architecture:** Opportunities for architects to create new designs that honor the past and embrace the future. - **Real Estate Development:** Opportunities for developers to transform existing structures into modern and appealing spaces. - **Interior Design:** Opportunities for interior designers to create seamless and integrated design elements that complement the overall space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Sleek Modular German Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-anton-ii.md) - [Multigenerational Modern Twin-Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/house-with-one-pillar.md) - [Juxtaposing Retro Cottage Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drew-mandel-architects.md) - [Renovated Multi-Gen Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/n7-bretscha-house.md) - [Juxtaposing History-Preserved Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/double-gable.md) - [Unique American-Designed Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ray-kappe.md) - [Garden-Focused Timeless Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-sanje.md) - [Crafted Historic Villas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pppler.md) - [Sustainable Cubic Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/appels-architekten.md)
