The software is titled the 'Firmware Updater for DualSense Wireless Controller,' as this is the sole purpose of the application. However, while the features are minimal, this is a very convenient feature for PC gamers who use a DualSense controller. Previously, in order to update the firmware on a controller, the device would need to be connected to a [PlayStation 5](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ps5-firmware-update) system. This means, in order to receive improvements such as extended battery life, reliable Bluetooth connections, improved charging speeds, or customizable buttons, the device would need to be connected to a console. Now, Windows users can enjoy these benefits as well without needing to find, or buy, a console.
