Dexter Industries created the panels to harness the [power of the sun](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-pool-ionizer) and power the bot. The system has capacitor banks, a [rechargeable battery pack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/deepsolar-x20-solar-power-bank) and parallel connectors for linking three panels together on one bot. The video above uses the dSolar Systems panels to make the robot successfully drive around Washington Circle. A whole lot of green fun! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 74% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Eco-friendly Robotics:** Dexter Industries' dSolar Systems panels provide an opportunity for robotics companies to incorporate renewable energy sources to their products. - **Modular Solar Panels:** The ability to link multiple dSolar Systems panels together provides an opportunity for companies to create modular solar panel solutions for various applications. - **Renewable Energy for Education:** The integration of dSolar Systems panels into educational robotics programs can provide students with an opportunity to learn about renewable energy and its applications in the real world. ### Where This Applies - **Robotics:** Dexter Industries' dSolar Systems panels provide the robotics industry with an opportunity to incorporate renewable energy sources to their products. - **Solar Energy:** The creation of modular solar panel solutions with the ability to link multiple dSolar Systems panels provides opportunities for growth within the solar energy industry. - **Education:** The integration of dSolar Systems panels into robotics curriculum can provide educational institutions with an opportunity to teach students about the practical applications of renewable energy. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Solar-Powered Rover Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-rover-kit.md) - [Solar-Powered Sleek Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-solaris.md) - [Solar Panel Cleaning Drones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solar-panel-cleaning-system.md) - [Tree-Inspired Solar Panel Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarbotanic-energy-tree.md) - [Solar-Powered Electric Boats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/solarpowered-electric-boat.md) - [Solar-Powered Robotic Lawnmowers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sunscout-pro-robot-lawnmower.md) - [Folding Solar Power Panels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dexpole-solar-power-bank.md) - [DIY Robotics Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/windbots.md) - [Algae-Powered Rover Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-rover.md)
