If you have, then designer Gregor Hanuschak has an awesome gadget for you. Dubbed the 'Smack Attack,' this device mounts on any standard steering wheel and turns the sides into [fully functional drum pads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/crkd-drums). The Smack Attack syncs with an [iPhone](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-dashboard-app) or any other iTunes enabled device to reproduce the sounds of the drum pads and even save your steering drum pad creations. What's best about this device isn't that it allows drivers to rock out, but it could actually be a boon for in-car safety. The Smack Attack would allow drivers to relieve stress in bad situations in a more constructive manner without taking their eyes off the road. Also, it could be used to help the driver stay awake on long road trips as well. That second point is probably much to the chagrin to fellow passengers, but they'll get their turn when it's their turn to drive. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 57% | Activity: 62% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Drumming While Driving:** A growing trend of utilizing in-car objects as instruments for entertainment to enhance the driving experience. - **Infotainment Systems:** Designers are finding innovative ways to integrate entertainment into the driving experience for both safety and enjoyment. - **Customized Car Accessories:** The rise of personalized and unique car accessories is providing drivers with options to enhance their in-car experience. ### Who This Affects Most - **Automotive Technology:** As the automotive industry becomes more advanced, the integration of infotainment systems and personalization options are becoming more common. - **Music and Entertainment:** The increase in unconventional musical instruments such as the 'Smack Attack' are capturing the interest of musicians and music enthusiasts who are looking for innovative ways to create music. - **Consumer Electronics:** As more gadgets become compatible with smartphones, designers are finding innovative ways to integrate these devices into daily life. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Steering Wheel Gaming Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamesir-swift-drive.md) - [Integrated Steering Controllers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swift-drive.md) - [Speaker-Equipped Smart Car Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bang-olufsen-steering-wheel-speaker.md) - [Adaptable Shapeshifting Steering Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dynamic-steering-wheel.md) - [Folding Ergonomic Steering Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steering-wheel-concept.md) - [Movement-Tracking Air Drums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-drums.md) - [Touch-Sensitive Steering Wheels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cercle-steering-wheel-concept.md) - [Musician-Friendly Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/throne-x.md) - [Driving Interface Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-dashboard-app.md)
