# Radiant Raindrop Fixtures The Drops Lamp Demonstrates its Weight as it Drips from the Ceiling By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-06-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drops-lamp References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/Drops-lamp-/2919969) The organic reference in the mod Drops Lamp is a delightful one that takes the shape of a falling dewdrop and emits the gentle refracted glow of the sunlight that penetrates it. Olesya Smirnova designed this as a playful piece that hangs from a single slender cord and expresses additional vibrancy through bold color coatings over the top half of each bulbous teardrop. The bottom portion of each suspended lamp remains clear and rounded like a lens. The lightbulb is visible from beneath the fixture and it alights the piece with a brilliant glossy gleam while creating gorgeous glass reflections. A fun and iconic quality to the Drops Lamp make it best displayed alongside others like it. They even look great when they're irregularly spaced and hung from different lengths of cables. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Organic Lighting Designs:** Designs inspired by organic shapes and natural elements like dewdrops offer innovative lighting solutions for interior spaces. - **Playful and Vibrant Fixtures:** Lamps with bold color coatings and irregular spacing provide eye-catching and unique lighting options. - **Reflected Light Effects:** Incorporating clear and rounded lamp designs that reflect light creates stunning glass reflections and a glossy gleam. ### Who This Affects Most - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate organic lighting designs to create unique and visually appealing spaces. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Lighting manufacturers can explore playful and vibrant fixtures to offer customers more diverse options for lighting their homes or businesses. - **Home Decor Retail:** Home decor retailers can showcase lighting fixtures with reflected light effects, providing customers with visually striking and sophisticated lighting choices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Mesmerizing Glass Pendants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-dew-pendant.md) - [Illusory Multidimensional Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-light.md) - [Dripping Faucet-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-light-fixture.md) - [Fishnet-Made Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/philips-mycreation-droplet-lamp.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Water Movement-Inspired Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ripple-light.md) - [Organically Fluid Lighting Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pop-collection.md) - [3D-Printed Sustainable Pendant Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mycreation-droplet.md) - [Umbrella-Resembling Playful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rain-man-lamp.md)
