Armin Bindzus unveils the unique Droplet watch, which is a DIY project that boasts a juxtaposing concept. The watch blends elements of water with electronics which are normally two things that would avoid one another. The droplets are intricately used in the design as polar liquids. This essentially means that the droplets are electrically charged and move around the surface due to that charge.

The technicality of this is dubbed electrowetting and it induces liquid motion by changing the electric field on the surface. The shifting field is done with three [concentric circles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ressence-type-9-ikeda) of [60 electrodes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-two-ring) that represent the 60 'ticks' on a watch's face. These are charged or discharged to allow the [droplets on the lanes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marc-newson-1) between the circles to move like hands on a clock.
