# Refined Pipe-Like Toilets The Drop Urinal Greatly Increases the Atmosphere of Men's Restrooms By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-09-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drop-urinal References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/DROP/3305854) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/gallery/DROP/3305854) "Exquisite!" is not the sort of exclamation that you would probably ever expect to overhear in the male bathroom, yet this dignified design concept certainly rouses this type of reaction. The Drop Urinal appears to have been treated like a [sculpture first and an amenity second](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/design-changes-everything), yet the way that it functions looks to be firm. Whether he was or not, Mateusz Chmura seems to have been inspired by the [elegant form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/piano-washbasin) of an antique pipe. The object begins narrowly at its tip and gracefully broadens to an open bowl. It's mounted on the washroom wall so that it formally behaves like an exaggerated drip of water running downwards with gravity. Even the practical experience of using the Drop Urinal is improved. The drain is out of sight and an [automatic flush valve](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clesana-x1) is integrated. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 15% | Activity: 16% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Refined Toilets:** Opportunity for innovating toilet designs to enhance aesthetic appeal and user experience. - **Functional Sculptures:** Potential for creating bathroom fixtures that combine functionality with artistic elements. - **Integrated Flush Systems:** Room for developing toilets with hidden drains and automatic flush features. ### Where This Applies - **Bathroom Fixtures:** Disruptive innovation opportunities in reimagining the design and functionality of toilets and other bathroom elements. - **Interior Design:** Chance to incorporate unique and visually appealing toilet designs as part of overall interior aesthetics. - **Plumbing:** Potential for advancements in integrated flush systems and concealed drain technology for toilets. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artfully Sculptured Textured Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-formation-02.md) - [Discreet Bathroom Deodorizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loo-drops.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md) - [Brutalist Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/formation-02.md) - [Futuristic Intelligent Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-toilet.md) - [Illuminated Public Artful Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hiroo-east-park.md) - [Light-Filled Public Restrooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vivid-toilet-interior.md) - [Inflatable Portable Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airpot.md) - [Water-Free Telescoping Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clesana-x1.md)
