The Edmonton Smart Travel App uses [verbal warnings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/roads-audio) to let drivers know about things such as [speed-limit changes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waze-conversational-reporting), construction zone warnings, police stop information and even weather forecasts. This driving app is a great example of simply modifying the manner in which information is relayed so that drivers can still get all the information they need but without having to disengage from their primary responsibility, which is to pay attention to the road. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 31% | Activity: 67% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Hands-free Driving Apps:** The development of hands-free driving apps presents an opportunity for app developers and automotive companies to innovate the driving experience and increase safety on the roads. - **Verbal Assistance Apps:** The Edmonton Smart Travel app showcases the potential for verbal assistance apps to provide useful information to drivers in a hands-free manner. - **Innovative Commuting Technology:** The Edmonton Smart Travel app is an innovative example of commuting technology that aims to enhance the driving experience. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Automotive Industry:** The development of hands-free driving apps presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the automotive industry to improve driver safety and enhance the driving experience. - **Mobile App Industry:** Verbal assistance apps, such as the Edmonton Smart Travel app, present a disruptive innovation opportunity for the mobile app industry to improve the driving experience for commuters. - **Technology Industry:** The development of innovative commuting technology, such as the Edmonton Smart Travel app, presents a disruptive innovation opportunity for the technology industry to enhance the driving experience and improve road safety. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Driving App Enhancements](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/waze-voice-feature-update.md) - [AI-Powered Driving Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aipowered-driving-app.md) - [Safety-Promoting Logistics Services](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drivewyze-free.md) - [Scenic Audio Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/honda-scenic-audio.md) - [Driving Interface Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-dashboard-app.md) - [AI-Enabled Car Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soundhound-ai.md) - [In-Car Stress-Reducing Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harman-ready-care.md) - [Virtual In-Car Tour Guides](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tourguide.md) - [Turn-By-Turn Truck Navigation Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/autosled.md)
