# Drinking Companion Robots The Bro-Bot Ensures That You Never Drink Alone By Malika Renee Butss | Published 2016-01-10 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drinking-companion References: [engadget](http://www.engadget.com/2016/01/06/drinky-the-robot/) & [youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=25&v=StEXXdhgRPs) Usually a drinking companion comes in the form of a close friend, family member or even someone you just met at a bar. However, when bars are far and family and friends have proven to be too busy, the Bro-Bot comes in handy. Created by South Korean inventor Eunchan Park, the Bro-Bot is your robotic drinking companion that is always available for you. In addition to listening to your troubles without judgement or interruption, this robot can also give the occasional nod or thumbs up to indicate that it is indeed listening. The Bro-Bot can also clink glasses with you before it downs its alcohol straight into its jar-based stomach, which you can then recycle. While a human drinking companion is the most ideal, this robot ensures you never have a drink alone. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 17% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [AI](https://www.trendhunter.com/ai) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Drinking Companion Robots:** Robot companions that can join individuals for a drink, providing conversation and company. - **Robotic Listening Devices:** Robots designed to listen without judgement or interruption, providing a non-human outlet for venting and sharing thoughts. - **Robotic Recycling Systems:** Robots with built-in recycling capabilities, allowing for easy and efficient disposal of drink containers. ### Who This Affects Most - **Hospitality:** Opportunity for hotels and bars to offer robot companions as a unique and engaging experience for guests. - **Consumer Electronics:** Potential for companies to create and market personal robotic devices for individuals seeking companionship. - **Waste Management:** Opportunity to develop innovative robotic systems that automate recycling processes and improve sustainability. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Beverage Dispensing Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ottobot-brew.md) - [AI Cocktail Assistants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/thirsty-bot.md) - [AI-Driven Robotic Beverage Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/robotic-beverage-machine.md) - [Interactive Desktop Robot Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eilik-companion-robot.md) - [Robotic Pet Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guliguli-smart-companion.md) - [Beverage Service Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/richtech-robotics-scorpion.md) - [Anti-AI Beer Billboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heineken-friend.md) - [Robotic Home Companions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ebo-air.md) - [Solo Citizen Protection Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/home-companion-robot.md)
