# Dresses For Chairs EDIT's 'Frock' Chairs and Bustiers Add Unique Style To Your Home By jodie anderson | Published 2009-02-25 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dressed-up-frock-chairs-and-bustiers References: [trendhunter](http://www.trendhunter.com/jjjodiez) & [edit-group.au](http://www.edit-group.com.au/images.php) Are your chairs in need of a makeover? Add a “frock” to your chairs for a completely new look. Alternatively, for a unique interior finish, try a mannequin with a mixed toile bustle. Inge Host, Co-designer of EDIT, has been described by Marie Claire magazine as “the one to watch” in Australian fashion, and her range of EDIT artifacts sell out in days. EDIT features one off design pieces, artwork, and unique fabrics that are snapped up by Liberty of London. My favorite is the hand painted Union Jack chair and “Bushfire” fire screen. Love it! Many of EDIT’s wares have also featured in top magazines such as; [Inside Out](http://www.edit-group.com.au/presspages/io.php), [INSTYLE](http://www.edit-group.com.au/presspages/instyle.php), [Harpars Bazzar](http://www.edit-group.com.au/presspages/harpars.php) and [Urbis](http://www.edit-group.com.au/presspages/urbis.php). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.8/10 - Popularity: 3% | Activity: 14% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Chair Makeover Trend:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture industry by offering unique chair covers and designs. - **Fashion-inspired Home Decor Trend:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the home decor industry by incorporating fashion elements into furniture and accessories. - **Artistic Furniture Trend:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the furniture industry by creating one-of-a-kind, hand-painted pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Industry:** The furniture industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by embracing unique chair cover designs and incorporating fashion elements into their products. - **Home Decor Industry:** The home decor industry can tap into disruptive innovation opportunities by merging fashion and interior design, offering unique and stylish furniture and accessories. - **Art and Design Industry:** The art and design industry has an opportunity for disruptive innovation by creating artistic and hand-painted furniture pieces that are both functional and visually appealing. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flamboyant Vintage-Inspired Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quiltana-armchair.md) - [Waste-Incorporated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-chairs.md) - [Sophisticated Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ff-chair-collection.md) - [Chunky Curvaceous Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/001-chair.md) - [Padded Upright Vibrant Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fender-chair.md) - [Luxe Textured Upholstered Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kenmare.md) - [Actress-Approved Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-drew-chair-by-beautiful.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Music-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-chair1.md)
