Each of Stonehouse's paintings is stranger than the last, giving viewers odd pieces of advice like, "dream of the marsh potatoes." His quirkiest and most awesome painting is definitely the marsh potatoes creation. This [two-dimensional piece](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition) shows a black bear suspended over a waterfall. He's crying huge, engorged tears, and looks off into the distance while surrounded by large flowers of all different neon colors. "Dream of the marsh potatoes" is written around him. The meaning of this unrequited advice is unclear, but one thing is for certain: Fred Stonehouse has some extremely strange dreams. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.5/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 4% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Dream Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Explore new ways of expressing dreams and subconscious thoughts through visual art forms. - **Bizarre Fantastical Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Push the boundaries of traditional art by creating bizarre and fantastical artwork that challenges viewers' perceptions. - **Two-dimensional Art:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Experiment with unconventional techniques in two-dimensional art, incorporating surreal elements and dream-like imagery. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Art Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Introduce a new genre of art that focuses on exploring dreams and surreal experiences. - **Gallery Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Create a gallery space dedicated to showcasing bizarre and fantastical art, providing a platform for artists who defy traditional norms. - **Art Education Industry:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: Develop art education programs that encourage students to explore their dreams and subconscious in their artistic practice. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Surrealist Shopping Experiences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreams-is.md) - [Wooden Light-Hearted Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dream-sculpture.md) - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md) - [Dream-Adorned Mosaic Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cosmologyscape.md) - [Material-Accented Dreamscape Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dreamscape-exhibit.md) - [Playful Modern Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brent-estabrook-debuts-storytime.md) - [AI-Generated Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/generative-ai-art.md)
