# Robotic Doodle Art An Up Close and Personal Look into a Drawing Machine By Kamal Musharbash | Published 2010-12-29 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawing-machine References: [fastcodesign](http://www.fastcodesign.com/1662950/drawing-machine-turns-photos-into-robot-drawn-wall-art-video) & [kickstarter](http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/notever/the-drawing-machine) Harvey Moon spent years coming up with the perfect processing language to create the Drawing Machine. This mathematical machine morphs images into algorithmically-based abstract pictures that seem pretty cool. As complex as it may sound, it's relatively simple. Scan the image and the rest is done by machine. Should you zoom in to Honest Abe's picture, you can see that the Drawing Machine's scribbles are quite elementary, but from far, the finished product is quite impressive and modern. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.4/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 93% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Algorithmic Art:** Businesses can explore opportunities to develop software that can create algorithmically-based art. - **Artificial Intelligence in Art:** Businesses can explore opportunities to incorporate artificial intelligence in the creative process in the art industry. - **Robotic Drawing Machines:** Businesses can explore opportunities to develop robotic drawing machines that can aid in the creative process for artists. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Artificial Intelligence:** Companies can invest in the development and implementation of artificial intelligence technology in the creative industries. - **Visual Art:** Art studios can experiment with and incorporate algorithmic art in their creative processes to produce unique and modern artworks. - **Robotics:** Businesses can look into developing robotic drawing machines that can aid artists in their creative process while producing unique and modern artworks. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Artistic AI Robots](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sketcher-x.md) - [AI Art Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodle2life.md) - [AI-Powered Painting Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loklik-ipaint.md) - [Image Stylization Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doodlify.md) - [Transformative AI Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawings-alive.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Motion Liquid Art Distortions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lidris.md) - [AI-Powered Sketch-To-Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/drawingpics.md) - [Artistic AI Image Generators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/donny-ai.md)
