Instead, it could be labelled as simple or even [minimalist](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balolo-setup-cockpit). It is made up of a boxy shape that gives it a modern appeal since people are introducing a lot of [geometric touches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tong-side-table) into their contemporary homes. Fashioned out of wood, the Drab Shelf by Soveng is made in traditions of joiner's craft. Perfect for the home or office, the design can be rested on the surface of a table in a few ways. Mainly, it can either accentuate the square shape of the design or be flipped over to make the shelf take on a [diamond form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puzzle-shelf). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 93% | Activity: 71% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Geometric Minimalism:** Designers can explore creating simple and geometric products that have a modern appeal. - **Flexible Product Designs:** Developers can experiment with designs that can be used in multiple ways and configurations. - **Joiner's Craft:** Traditional craft techniques such as joinery can be used to create modern and minimalist products. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can create minimalist products that cater to modern design sensibilities using traditional craft techniques. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate geometric and minimalist products in their designs to create a contemporary look. - **Home Office Supplies:** Home office supply companies can develop versatile products that can be used for multiple purposes such as the Drab Shelf by Soveng. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Versatile Modern Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/utility-shelf.md) - [Dynamic Storage-Display Shelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelf-life.md) - [L-Shaped Stacked Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/loft-shelf.md) - [Dynamic Geometric Bookshelves](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cheft.md) - [Modular Grid-Style Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bend-shelf-by-spenser-atlas.md) - [Clock-Accented Shelf Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/omega-shelf.md) - [Customizable Style-Conscious Shelving](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ledoux-modular-shelf-system.md) - [Japanese Woodwork-Inspired Shelving Units](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/altitude-shelving.md) - [Modular Contemporary Shelving Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qurv.md)
