One drawing depicts gentry riding atop an elephant through the streets of British India; another portrays a man flying above skyscrapers on the back of a giant eagle. In one illustration, an 18th-century French cavalry officer rallies his troops in advance of leading a fearsome charge at the enemy. Other scenes are less violent. Reminiscent of a Jules Verne novel, Smith's work portrays an astronaut staring through his helmet at a foliage-filled [bio-dome](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dianai-solar-sailer) in one picture. Such imagery naturally piques one's curiosity and ignites the imagination. Despite the wildly varying scenery, all of the drawings in this series portray [scenes of adventure and voyage](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-art-of-travel). ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.5/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Vivid Voyage Scenes:** Opportunity for immersive storytelling experiences in virtual reality or augmented reality that bring adventurous scenes to life. - **Exploration Art:** Opportunity for art prints and collectibles featuring adventurous and imaginative scenes to cater to the growing niche market of adventure enthusiasts. - **Nostalgic Adventure:** Opportunity for retro-inspired adventure games or movies that evoke the spirit of exploration from the past. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Virtual Reality Entertainment:** Disruptive opportunity for VR content developers to create immersive experiences featuring vivid voyage scenes. - **Art and Collectibles:** Disruptive opportunity for artists and manufacturers to produce exploration-themed art prints, posters, and collectibles. - **Gaming and Entertainment:** Disruptive opportunity for game developers and filmmakers to create nostalgic adventure experiences that resonate with audiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Otherworldly Wooden Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wooden-sculptures-1.md) - [Immigration System-Inspired Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/passport-series.md) - [Public Art Displays](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paul-anthony-smith.md) - [Otherwordly Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/william-monk.md) - [Sci-Fi-Inspired Classical Posters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sen-donnan.md) - [AI-Generated Retrofuturistic Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/retrofuturistic-objects.md) - [Striking Urban Wildlife Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clare-allin.md) - [Whimsical Soccer-Themed Illustrations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soccerthemed-illustrations.md) - [Apocalypse Post Pandemic Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/contemporary-urban-art.md)
