The contest was part of their annual Night Out Against Crime event. Activities on show include live demonstrations from the Coast Guard and K-9 police dog units, basketball tournaments, a car and truck show, live music and a wide variety of games and fun activities for the entire family. However, the highlight of the event was certainly the doughnut-eating contest. The contest allows regular folk to vie for doughnut-eating bragging rights alongside policemen. The contest was won by 24-year-old Bradley Harrison, who showed enormous resolve to down [eight doughnuts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/krispy-kreme-8) in only two minutes, beating contestants who included policemen as well as firefighters. In an ironic turn of events, Harrison's victory led to police recognizing him as a suspect in two break-ins and arresting him.
