He offers a mix of photography, [installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/faraday-cage) and everything between. I particularly enjoy his photo collection of barnyard animals making themselves comfortable in the master bedroom. The combination of the majestic buffalo among the everyday furniture of the living room is an odd sight to see. Form more of this wonderful weirdness, check out Aitken's website. **Implications** - Doug Aitken's 'Migration' places wild animals in vacant modern roadside hotels. Personally I think that the photos are eerie but that they work really well as a commentary on urbanization. Doug Aitken is a phenomenal photographer. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.5/10 - Popularity: 36% | Activity: 91% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Wildlife Explorations:** Capturing wild animals in unexpected settings sparks conversations about human encroachment on the natural world. - **Photographic Installations:** Artists combining different media to create immersive experiences blur the boundaries between traditional art forms. - **Urbanization Commentary:** Art that highlights the impact of urbanization on wildlife prompts reflection on the changing relationship between humans and animals. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Fine Art Photography:** Photographers exploring unconventional subjects and mediums create unique and thought-provoking artistic works. - **Installation Art:** Artists merging photography and installation techniques offer immersive experiences that challenge traditional art boundaries. - **Conservation and Ecology:** Artwork that raises awareness about the effects of urbanization on wildlife contributes to the conversation on conservation and ecological sustainability. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Painting-Immersive Photo Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-ground-exhibition.md) - [Dramatic Doomsday Bunker Images](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alastair-philip-wiper.md) - [Wilderness-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/habitat-collection.md) - [Outdoor Wildlife Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-elephant-migration.md) - [Playful Modern Art Shows](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brent-estabrook-debuts-storytime.md) - [Industrial Architecture-Themed Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-archaeology.md) - [Creature-Inspired Home Good Lines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charles-jeffreys-loverboy.md) - [Abstract Fantasy Home Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abstract-fantasy-home.md) - [Sizable Chair Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-installation.md)
