# Oscillating Siamese Seats The Double Rocking Chair is a Traditional Rocker with a Twin of a Twist By Amelia Roblin | Published 2012-10-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/double-rocking-chair-by-paul-lemiski References: [designspotter](http://www.designspotter.com/product/2012/09/Sculpted-Double-Rocking-Chair.html) & [custommade](http://www.custommade.com/custom-double-rocking-chair/by/rockingchairs/) A [two-person rocker](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bench-for-two) is not a rare object by any means; however, the Double Rocking Chair comes off as captivatingly quirky. The reason for this is because it appears to be a play on the archetypal form of a single antique swaying seat, yet it incorporates its mirror image right next to it. Paul Lemiski cut, carved, sanded and finished the beautiful piece from gorgeous Brazilian lacewood. It features graceful and [slender arched components](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/new-moon-chair) at its base, exquisitely [sculpted armrests](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair) and a Windsor style of backrest with ergonomically bent wooden dowels that converge slightly at the base of each seat. Grooves have been cut out of the front edge of the Double Rocking Chair to invite a pair of people to sit down together. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.3/10 - Popularity: 53% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Two-person Rockers:** Designing and manufacturing innovative rocking chairs that can comfortably accommodate two people in a unique way. - **Quirky Furniture:** Creating unconventional furniture pieces that incorporate playful twists to traditional designs. - **Ergonomic Rocking Chairs:** Developing rocking chairs with ergonomically designed features to provide maximum comfort and support. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Exploring opportunities to produce and market two-person rocking chairs that offer a fresh take on traditional designs. - **Interior Design:** Incorporating quirky furniture pieces like the Double Rocking Chair into interior design projects to add visual interest and create unique seating arrangements. - **Woodworking:** Utilizing woodworking skills to craft custom-made ergonomic rocking chairs that combine aesthetic beauty with functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wooden Lounge Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nice-chair.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Geometric Rocking Chair Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair.md) - [Motion Blur-Inspired Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fast-rocking-chair.md) - [Dynamic Movement Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wobbl-rocking-chair.md) - [Contemporary Rocking Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/penguin-rocking-chair.md) - [Rocking Table-Mounted Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/espattio-platero-rocking-table.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Playground-Inspired Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/swing-seat.md)
