The upper part of the guitar features a [12-string setup](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/acoustic-guitar-models), and comes with a chambered body with a maple top and cherry back. The lower guitar's body is smaller and not chambered. Each guitar section can be played independently, but bear in mind that when the [mini guitar](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smallscale-electric-guitars) is connected to the body as a doubleneck, the signal is automatically routed right through the 12-string guitar's output. Ultimately, the Double Flux Guitar allows guitar players a whole lot more freedom due to the easy functionality and range of sounds it offers. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.5/10 - Popularity: 40% | Activity: 28% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Modular Instruments:** Double-splitting guitars demonstrate the potential for modular instruments that can be taken apart and reconfigured to suit different performance needs. - **Hybridization:** The Double Flux Guitar showcases how musical instruments can combine multiple features and sounds, signifying growth in hybridization. - **Disassembling Equipment:** The ability to snap apart the instrument into two distinct and separate single neck guitars hints at the trend of disassembling equipment for repair, personalization, and customization. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Musical Instruments:** The Double Flux Guitar highlights potential for businesses in the musical instrument industry to innovate by creating modular instruments that offer greater freedom and range of sounds. - **Manufacturing:** There is a possibility of disrupting the manufacturing industry with modular instruments that are easier to assemble, repair, and maintain. - **Personalization and Customization:** Musical instrument businesses can also leverage the interest in personalization and customization by offering modular instruments that can be assembled according to individual preferences and needs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shreddable Steampunk Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steampunk-guitar.md) - [Modular High-End Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shark-guitars.md) - [Travel-Friendly Folding Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/travelfriendly-folding-guitar.md) - [Electronic String Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/harmoni.md) - [Boldly Bizarre Budget Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/budget-guitar.md) - [Children-Forward Guitar Companies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smallscale-electric-guitars.md) - [Futuristic Abstract Musical Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zeta-electric-guitar.md) - [Folding Speaker-Equipped Electric Guitars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mogabi-v3-guitar.md) - [Digitized Guitar Whammy Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/guitar-whammy-bar.md)
